Passive, unengaged learners is the biggest challenge in training

Keeping the attention of learners has never been an easy task, but keeping the attention of learners in a virtual environment is nearly impossible. StreamAlive’s chat-powered interactions keeps the attention on your training material, boosts engagement among all attendees, and helps them retain knowledge

Silent audiences

Hello? Is anyone there? Staring a sea of blank faces or turned off cameras makes it impossible to read the room and adjust your teaching.

Divided attention

Even with cameras turned on, second screens are screaming for the attention of your learners.

Low participation

Sometimes getting learners to engage or react is like getting blood from a stone, making it difficult to know if your concepts are being absorbed by everyone

Poor knowledge retention

Lack of engagement and attention go hand-in-hand with lack of knowledge retention, making it a challenge when knowledge is mission critical to the job or for learning outcomes.

Cumbersome engagement tools

Why would an instructor ask their learners to navigate away from their presentation and look at a different screen just to participate in a poll? Keeping the attention is hard enough without giving more distractions.

Engagement takes effort

Taking apart your training material and coming up with interesting audience questions takes time that you don’t have and effort that you would rather use elsewhere.

Passive, unengaged learners are a training nightmare

Old way

Boring, one-way presentations

Audiences tune out if they are just asked to passively listen to a presentation.

Disengaged audiences

Wandering attention spans

New way with StreamAlive

Inclusive, two-way presentations

Involve your audience and turn them into participants with chat-powered interactions.

Super easy for everyone to use

Powered by the chat

Old way

Silent audiences

"Hello? Is anyone there?" – Instructors face a wall of blank faces or turned-off cameras.

No real-time feedback makes it impossible to read the room.

Difficult to adjust teaching methods when you can’t gauge understanding.

New way with StreamAlive

Give every learner a voice

Using the chat, everyone gets a voice that can be heard using StreamAlive's visual interactions

No need to ask people to turn on their microphones—get everyone to participate in the chat.

Makes virtual training feel as interactive as in-person sessions.

Old way

Divided Attention

Even with cameras on, learners multitask or browse on second screens.

Distractions from notifications, social media, or background noise pull focus away.

Hard to maintain continuous attention without dynamic engagement.

New way

Engagement without distractions

Learners participate directly in the chat—no need to switch tabs or open extra tools.

AI-driven engagement keeps learners focused throughout the session.

Keeps attention locked on the training material rather than external distractions.

Old way

Low participation

Getting learners to speak up feels like pulling teeth. Questions often go unanswered, making it unclear if key concepts are being absorbed.

Questions are met with silence, making it unclear if concepts are understood

Passive learners miss key insights, affecting overall learning effectiveness.

New way

Automated audience prompts

Smart triggers prompt learners with polls, open-ended questions, and quizzes at key moments.

Encourages even passive learners to participate effortlessly.

Helps instructors instantly assess understanding and adapt content accordingly.

Old way

Poor knowledge retention

When learners passively absorb information, they forget it quickly. This leads to ineffective training, especially when knowledge is mission-critical.

Low engagement means learners forget information quickly.

Training sessions feel like one-sided lectures rather than interactive learning.

New way

Active learning for better retention

Live discussions, chat-based exercises, and interactive storytelling reinforce concepts.

Learners actively engage rather than passively absorb, improving knowledge retention.

Makes training feel more like an engaging conversation than a dull lecture.

Old way

Cumbersome engagement tools

Instructors must ask learners to switch to external tools for polls, quizzes, or feedback.

Navigating multiple screens adds complexity and distractions.

Breaks the flow of the session, leading to lower engagement.

New way

All-in-one engagement in chat

Polls, quizzes, and audience interactions happen within the chat—no extra apps needed.

No distractions or switching screens—everything flows seamlessly.

Enhances engagement without disrupting the learning experience.

Old way

Engagement takes effort

Trainers spend extra time designing questions and activities just to keep learners interested.

Manually switching between content, slides, and engagement tools disrupts teaching.

The burden of engagement often falls entirely on the instructor.

New way

Effortless automation for trainers

StreamAlive automates interactive elements, reducing manual effort for instructors.

Set up once, and engagement runs on autopilot during the session.

Let trainers focus on teaching instead of constantly managing interactions.

Compliments your existing presentation slides

No one wants to redo work they’ve already done. StreamAlive lets you upload your slides, seamlessly integrate interactions, and keep your audience engaged. Launch interactions directly from your presentation.

How does StreamAlive work?

No codes, embeds, or funny URLs are required* for online sessions.
For your learners, it's as simple as typing in the chat.

Set up your interactions

Before your event starts, add the interactions you want to run. Create your own questions, use ChatGPT to come up with questions for you, or use the library of pre-written questions.

Choose from polls, word clouds, spinner wheels, interactive maps, and more.

You can even add your slides so your presentation and audience interactions are shared from a single browser tab.

Let's show the presentation builder here

Enter your meeting link

StreamAlive connects to your training session and enters as a bot that reads the chat stream. Learn more.

NEW: Use the StreamAlive App for Zoom and manage everything from within the Zoom desktop client!

Share your screen

The StreamAlive presentation console contains all your slides and interactions that you can run through just like you would if your were presenting a PowerPoint, Keynote, or Google Slides deck.

Need to change the question on this interaction
* StreamAlive supports hybrid and offline classes too via a mobile-loving, browser-based, no-app-to-install chat experience. Of course, there’s no way around a URL that they have to click on to access it. Learn more.
Why is StreamAlive different?

You’ve already tried a hundred ways to boost engagement and attention in your training sessions, but here’s what makes StreamAlive different from other engagement tools.

Turns everyone into a 'textrovert'

  • It doesn't matter if your learner is an introvert or extrovert, StreamAlive enables everyone to be a 'textrovert'.

By capturing ideas, questions, and opinions from the chat, StreamAlive ensures that everyone has a voice that can be heard.

Put a short looping video of talking tiles here

No second screens or mobiles*

  • StreamAlive is powered by the chat. The last thing you want to do is have an easily distracted sales person open a new tab or look at their phone to participate in a poll or word cloud.

  • * StreamAlive works for in-person training using a browser-based app which provides a similar experience to someone joining virtually via Teams or Zoom.

Intelligently collect, curate, and moderate questions

  • StreamAlive’s AI automatically spots questions from the chat (no question marks ? required!) and curates them into a question bank.

  • You’ll never have to berate a learner for not using the Q&A tab to submit their question again! All questions are welcomed in the chat at any time during the session.

Track engagement, not just attendance

  • Using the post-event analytics, you can see who the most engaged learners were, so you can target those that didn’t participate.

  • Tracking engagement and participation ensures that your sessions are not just another ‘tick’ in the “completed training” box.

Frequently Asked Questions

How exactly does StreamAlive work in my training session?

You create your interactions (polls, word clouds, quiz questions, interactive maps, spinner wheels etc.) in the StreamAlive app. During your presentation you open StreamAlive in a browser tab, connect it to your meeting (instructions on how to connect StreamAlive to your meeting) and share your screen.

If you know how to share your screen to show a PowerPoint or Google Slides presentation then you know everything you need to know to use StreamAlive!

When the interaction is displayed on your screen, your audience can type in the chat and their responses are visualized in real-time.

Does StreamAlive work with on-demand training and classes?

StreamAlive is an audience engagement tool for instructor-led group training. We’re looking at ways to support self-paced, on-demand asynchronous sales training. The challenge is how to make a poll or word cloud or any other interaction engaging when no one else is participating at the same time.

How does StreamAlive access my Teams / Zoom / Google Meet meeting?

The easiest way to connect StreamAlive to your Teams or Zoom meeting is to use the StreamAlive app for Teams or the StreamAlive app for Zoom.

The alternative method is to login to the StreamAlive webapp, enter the URL to your meeting (instructions on how to connect StreamAlive to your meeting) and allow StreamAlive to enter as a bot. If you are familiar with notetaking apps joining a meeting, StreamAlive works in a similar way.

How will StreamAlive make my training sessions or classes more engaging?

Instructor-led training sessions tend to have a habit of being monologues delivered by the instructor to a very passive audience - which is multiplied when the training is done virtually. StreamAlive breaks the monotony of training and learning by turning the session into a dialogue where passive audiences become active learners.

Do I need to give attendees a link or QR code to scan?

For virtual meetings in Teams, Zoom, Google Meet or any of the other platforms we support, there is no need for links or QR codes for the attendees as they participate in the interactions by using the chat - it’s super easy for them!

For in-person meetings your attendees will need to access the browser-based chat which mimics the chat in a Zoom or Teams meeting and allows the attendee to participate in the interaction when you share it on your screen.

How much does StreamAlive cost?

StreamAlive plans start from $20/mo or $100/yr for upto 50 commenters per session. For more tailored plans for enterprise sales training, please contact us to talk about your requirements.

Can I embed StreamAlive interactions in my presentation?

You can upload your slides to StreamAlive’s presentation builder and integrate it with interactions. Instead of presenting your slides from PowerPoint or Google Slides, you present from StreamAlive so you don’t have to switch back and forth between slides and interactions.

Alternatively, can insert quick interaction links into your presentation which opens up a new browser tab when you open it. Currently there is no way to embed an interaction like a poll or word cloud within the actual presentation slide.
