Your deck stays your deck. The question sits on a slide between the others, and answering it takes nothing more than the meeting chat everyone already has open.

The ease of integrating polling and surveys into the townhall presentation was incredible. I highly encourage you to give it a try, as our team responded very well to the interactivity.

A poll on its own, or on your PowerPoint slide.

Put the question on a slide with the add-in, share PowerPoint in your meeting as usual, and the answers fill in right there on the slide. Or skip the slides and share the StreamAlive window on its own.

A Microsoft Teams meeting. First the host shares the StreamAlive window on its own; then the host shares PowerPoint, where the same interaction sits on a slide. Answers typed in the Teams chat fill the interaction either way. Choose a slide in the slide list to switch interaction, or type your own answer in the chat.

Attendees taking part in Virtual Approval’s virtual and hybrid events, before and after they switched to StreamAlive.

Before StreamAlive, we were using other well-known QR-based interaction tools. About 60 – 70% of people would follow a QR code. Now that all they have to do is type in the chat, we see more like 90 – 95% of participants engaging.

  • There are loads of digital tools you can use to increase engagement in your live online sessions. But there is one that is hands-down my favorite: StreamAlive.

Gwyn Wansbrough Online Facilitator and Trainer, Breakthrough Facilitation
  • I use StreamAlive in my virtual teaching because it helps create an active learning environment within the meeting. It allows students to participate without leaving the current platform, making it convenient for those using laptops with limited screen space.

Questions about StreamAlive for PowerPoint

Do I have to rebuild my deck?

No. The add-in puts interactions on slides in the deck you already have. Add a new slide where you want a question, or bring in slides from a presentation you built in StreamAlive.

Which view should I present in?

Slide Show. Interactions are built for it, and it’s the view where they’re sure to update. Presenter View is fine for the rest of your talk: switch to Slide Show for the question and back afterwards. Don’t use PowerPoint Live in Teams; share the slideshow window or your screen instead.

Presenting PowerPoint in Zoom and Teams
Which versions of PowerPoint does it work with?

PowerPoint 16.100 or later. Add it from Home, then Add-ins, or from Microsoft AppSource.

StreamAlive on Microsoft AppSource
Which meeting platforms does it work with?

Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Meet and YouTube, and sessions in the room, where people answer at chat.streamalive.com on their phones.

Can AI suggest questions for my slides?

Yes. Use AI on PPT reads the slides you have and suggests where a poll or question fits. Create with AI writes a set of interactions from a topic and your audience.

Can I preview a slide before I present?

Yes. Press Preview in the add-in to see the interaction run as it will in the session, then Stop.

What about Google Slides?

Google Slides can’t show live content inside a slide, so StreamAlive gives you a quick link to paste on one instead. Clicking it while you present opens the interaction in a browser tab, where you connect StreamAlive to your meeting and share that tab.

Do participants need anything?

No. They type in the meeting chat they already have, with no app, no account and no QR code.

Is there a free plan?

Yes. Sessions with up to five participants are free, with every interaction included and no card needed. Paid plans start at $100 for a pack of 4 sessions, and Pro is $75 a month, billed annually.
